Dr. Stuart-Shor’s program of research is focused on health disparities and improving cardiovascular outcomes for underserved populations including racial and ethnic minorities, women, the elderly, and individuals of low socioeconomic status. Recent funded activities include an NIH-sponsored randomized clinical trial of a culturally relevant multiple cardiovascular risk reduction intervention in an underserved African-American community titled "Roxbury Heart and Sole" as well as a similar project in Kenya titled "Kenya Heart and Sole: The Afya Njema Project."
