Ellen’s research focuses on the organizing work of nurses and their impact on healthcare operations. Currently, Ellen studies the role and contributions of emergency nurses to patient flow, including patient prioritization, resource rationing and allocation, and the management of care trajectories. She enjoys conceptual, theoretical, and qualitative research approaches. Ellen is also interested in interdisciplinary partnerships and collaboration between nursing, operations research, and human factors engineering.
