WISER Faculty Guide

WISER provides faculty with access to class rosters and grade rosters. Faculty may also view the academic record of any student for advising purposes. Access is automatically granted faculty members provided that they have an up-to-date HR record and are assigned as the instructor for a course in WISER.

The WISER system contains student personal information. It is protected by the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). FERPA governs all information in a student's record within WISER, ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of student data.

Get Access to WISER

Faculty Center

The Faculty Center is a key resource where faculty members can access important information such as their teaching schedule, class rosters, and grade rosters, helping you stay organized and connected with your students throughout the semester.

About My Schedule

The My Schedule dashboard pertains to your current courseload.

The Class Roster

Class rosters default to a students chosen name. The chosen name may not match the student campus email address.

The Grade Roster

Grade rosters are generated by the Registrar's Office at the end of each semester. As a faculty member, you should automatically have access to enter your grades for your assigned courses.

Log Out

Once you have completed your self-service transactions, to ensure your session is securely ended, expand the menu under the 3 dots icon and click Sign out. Logging out properly helps protect personal information and ensures that your session is fully terminated.

Registrar Policies & Procedures

The UMass Boston Registrar's "Faculty & Staff" page offers essential information on academic policies, grading procedures, and registration issues, as well as details on grade submission.
